Two distinct programs share the Buffalo name, and both are here. The American Gold Buffalo, struck since 2006, was the first .9999 fine gold coin the United States Mint produced, carrying James Earle Fraser's 1913 Type 1 Buffalo Nickel design at full relief. The 2001 American Buffalo silver dollar was a one-year commemorative that sold out its entire 500,000-coin authorisation in under two weeks.
The 2001 issues are the ones with real population pressure — the Philadelphia proofs in PR 69 DCAM and the Denver strikes in MS 69 were submitted in large numbers, but the top grades stayed scarce. The 2026 Liberty Bell 250th anniversary privy Buffalos are the current-year releases.
Every coin is certified and listed with its grade and certification number.
