Coinage from Persia and Iran, from the Qajar silver of the late nineteenth century through the Pahlavi gold of the twentieth and the Azadi issues that followed. The Pahlavi is the best known — a gold trade coin struck from 1926, issued in quarter, half, one, two and a half, five and ten Pahlavi sizes, at .900 fine.
Very little of this material reaches the US market certified. Populations at the top grades are small simply because few examples were ever submitted, which makes an MS 65 or MS 66 Pahlavi a different proposition from the same grade on a modern program coin.
Every coin is certified and listed with its grading service, grade and certification number.
