The Dragon is the most collected animal in the Australian Lunar series, and the one where demand consistently outruns the mintage. Three Dragon years exist across the program: 2000 in Series I, 2012 in Series II, and 2024 in Series III — each with its own reverse design and its own scarcity profile.
The 2012 issues are the ones most collectors chase. The 1 oz gold Dragon in MS 70 has a graded population that is small against a 30,000-coin mintage, and the 1/20 oz and 1/4 oz fractionals in top grade are harder still. The 2024 P125 anniversary strikes and dragon-privy variants have become their own sub-market.
Every Dragon listed here is a single certified coin. The grade, the grading service and the certification number are stated on each listing so the population can be verified before purchase.
