For the United States Semiquincentennial — America's 250th — the Mint applied a Liberty Bell 250 privy mark across an unusually wide range of 2026 issues. If you are trying to work out what actually exists, or which certification number belongs to which coin, the information is scattered. This is the list in one place.
A privy mark is a small additional design element struck into a coin to mark an occasion or origin. It does not change the coin's grade, its metal or its face value. It changes which issue the coin is — and therefore which population it belongs to.
The silver dollars
The Morgan and Peace dollars were issued as reverse proofs carrying the privy and a dual date, plus a separate enhanced finish struck at West Point.

Note that the 2026 proof Silver Eagle struck at Philadelphia, PCGS 1007587, does not carry the privy. If a listing says 2026 proof Silver Eagle without specifying the mint, that distinction is the one to pin down before you buy.

The Gold Buffalo is the one worth flagging. The privy appears only on the proof — the plain 2026 bullion Buffalo, PCGS 1004276, has no privy mark at all. Two quite different coins from the same year.
How to use these numbers
A PCGS number identifies one exact issue: date, mint mark, strike type and variety. It is the number used on submission forms and in the population report, and it removes all ambiguity about which coin is being discussed. One caution on the First Strike and First Day of Issue numbers above: those designations describe when the coin was submitted, not how it looks. A First Strike PR 70 and a plain PR 70 are the same grade. We cover that distinction properly in the PCGS grading guide.
