Coins of Cuba

Cuban numismatics is a small, self-contained field with an unusually clear history. The Republic's first coinage was struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1915 and 1916 to Charles Barber's designs — gold in 1, 2, 4, 5, 10 and 20 Peso denominations, silver from 10 Centavos to the Peso — and none of it was produced in large numbers.
