our shipping commitment
at assay house, we are committed to getting your order to you quickly, safely, and at no additional cost. every domestic order ships free via usps, and all high-value orders are fully insured and protected with adult signature confirmation for your security and peace of mind.
free domestic shipping
all domestic orders include free usps shipping — no minimum purchase required. shipping is always on us.

shipping methods
all domestic orders are shipped via usps. the service used depends on the order value:

assay house reserves the right to upgrade your shipping service at no additional cost to ensure safe and timely delivery.
insurance & coverage
every domestic order is fully insured in transit through usps, at no cost to you, until it is delivered.
- orders up to $2,500 are insured for their full value through usps insurance (Priority Mail / Ground Advantage)
- orders over $2,500 are shipped via usps Registered Mail — the most secure usps service — and insured for their full value, up to $50,000
- coverage is conditioned on (i) delivery to the address provided at checkout, (ii) an adult signature where one is required, and (iii) timely reporting of any loss or damage as described below
- if an order's value exceeds available usps coverage, we will contact you to arrange appropriate insured shipping before dispatch
signature required on orders over $500
for the security of both our customers and assay house, all orders with a value exceeding $500 must be shipped with adult signature required.
- a signature from an adult (18+) will be required at the time of delivery
- usps will not leave the package unattended without a signature
- if no one is available to sign, usps will leave a notice and attempt redelivery
- you may also pick up your package at your local usps facility with valid photo ID
- this requirement cannot be waived — it is in place to protect your purchase and to maintain insurance coverage
please ensure someone is available to sign for your delivery. assay house is not responsible for delays caused by missed delivery attempts.
risk of loss
title and risk of loss pass to you when your order is delivered to the carrier. however, because every domestic order is insured in transit (see “insurance & coverage” above), if an insured shipment is lost or damaged before delivery, we will file and pursue the carrier claim and refund or replace your order up to the insured value, provided you report the issue within the timeframes below and cooperate with the claim. for any order where tracking shows delivery to the address provided at checkout, delivery is deemed complete and risk of loss has passed to you.
order processing & handling time
all orders are processed and shipped within 3 business days of the order being placed and payment being confirmed.
- business days are Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays
- orders placed on weekends or holidays will begin processing the next business day
- you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your usps tracking number once your order has shipped
- processing time is separate from transit time — please allow additional days for usps delivery
- high-value orders may require identity verification before they ship; if verification is needed, processing may take additional time and we will contact you

shipment tracking
once your order has shipped you will receive a confirmation with your usps tracking number. you can use this number to track your package at usps.com or by calling 1-800-222-1811.
- tracking is available for all orders
- tracking updates may take up to 24 hours to appear after the label is created
- if your tracking has not updated within 3 business days of your ship date please contact us at contact@assayhouse.com
packaging & protection
all items are carefully and securely packaged to ensure they arrive in the same condition they were shipped. for coins, bullion, and precious metals we take extra precautions including:
- individual protective sleeves, flips, or capsules for coins and collectibles
- padded and tamper-evident packaging
- discreet exterior packaging with no indication of contents
- all packages are sealed and inspected before shipping
lost, damaged, or undelivered packages
while we take every precaution to ensure safe delivery, your domestic order is insured in transit and we will help you resolve any issue. to keep your shipment covered, please observe the following:
- report visible damage or a package that arrives opened or tampered with within 3 calendar days of delivery
- report a package that tracking shows as lost or stuck in transit, or a non-delivery, within 7 calendar days of the expected delivery date
- provide your order number and usps tracking number when you contact us
- do not discard any item, packaging, or materials — they are required to support a usps or insurance claim
- retain all packaging until any claim is resolved
upon timely report, we will file the claim on your behalf and work toward a resolution as quickly as possible, refunding or replacing the order up to the insured value. these timeframes are coordinated with our Refund Policy; where the two differ, the shorter applicable window applies.
incorrect or undeliverable addresses
please make sure your shipping address is complete and accurate at checkout. assay house is not responsible for orders that are delayed, lost, or returned to us because of an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address provided by you. if a package is returned to us as undeliverable, we will contact you to arrange reshipment, and any additional shipping or insurance cost to reship may be your responsibility.
international orders
international shipping is available on a limited basis and is not currently eligible for free shipping. for an international quote, contact us at contact@assayhouse.com before ordering.
- international shipping rates and insurance are quoted per order based on destination and value
- all duties, taxes, customs fees, and import charges are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in our prices or shipping charges
- you are responsible for ensuring that the items you order may lawfully be imported into your country; assay house is not responsible for items seized or delayed by customs
- we do not ship to destinations restricted by U.S. law or economic sanctions, and we may decline or cancel any international order at our discretion in accordance with our Terms of Service
- once an international shipment leaves the United States, transit times and handling are outside our control
platform-specific information
eBay buyers. shipping costs and handling times displayed in your eBay listing reflect this policy. tracking information will be uploaded to your eBay order automatically once your item ships. all eBay shipping settings are maintained to comply with eBay’s seller performance standards.
Shopify / website buyers. free shipping is automatically applied to all domestic orders at checkout. no coupon code is required. your tracking number will be emailed to you once your order ships.
Google Shopping buyers. all orders fulfilled through Google Shopping are processed through our Shopify storefront and are subject to this shipping policy. free shipping will be reflected in your Google Shopping listing.
