Gold issues from the Perth Mint's Australian Lunar series, struck in .9999 fine gold and certified by NGC, PCGS, CACG or ANACS. This is the deepest part of the Assay House catalogue: fractional sizes from 1/20 oz up to the 10 oz strikes, spanning Series I, II and III.
Gold Lunars are collected two ways. Set builders work an animal at a time within a single size — the 1/20 oz cycle is the most attainable, the 1 oz cycle the most sought after. Condition collectors chase the top of the population report, where an MS 70 in an early Series I year can be a genuinely small number of coins. Every listing here states the grade and the certification number so the population can be checked before you buy.
Each coin carries a face value in Australian dollars, is legal tender in Australia, and arrives sealed in the tamper-evident holder shown in the photographs. Coins described as BU are raw, in original mint packaging, and are described as such in the title.
